Chantel Schultz

Chantel Schultz is a visual artist in Edmonton, AB with a studio focus in sculpture. She graduated from the Medicine Hat College in 2017 with a degree in Visual Communications before transferring into the Art and Design program at the University of Alberta in which she is in her final term. Her work investigates the construction of body-mind related dualisms and nature-culture divisions, mostly through the framework of the body. She questions the body as permeable and porous through materials and forms that make reference to skin, orifices, and the internal to observe the slippery barrier that keeps the constructed binaries in their place and asks the viewer to reconsider the interconnectivity and relativity of these concepts.
