Bob and Bo
The work explores the relationship between representation and abstraction and concerns itself with feelings of disconnection. It begins as a staged scene, is captured and digitized by a camera, is distorted by a printer, and is distorted further yet, deliberately, during the painting process. The final image becomes a thing disconnected like the disconnected parts of the body occupying the canvas.
